Our Diamond Jubilee Summer Exhibition - what a showstopper !

Fiona is our Exhibition Secretary, she’s done an incredible job !

We’ve reached a milestone of 60 years of showing off our creations! It feels an amazing achievement, especially to those members who’ve been a part of it over many years and have seen the Club change and develop into what it is today.

Local MP Claire Young opened this Special Diamond Annual Exhibition

On behalf of Club members, MP Claire Young expressed our praise and a special vote of thanks to Mary Drown and Pauline Wilson-Smith for their dedicated involvement over many years in making the Annual event such an ongoing success.

Over 300 pieces of original artwork were on display, with 75 being sold.

Visitor numbers totalled around 750, with their favourite paintings voted as being:-

1st – ‘Wildflower Tapestry’ by Anne McAllister

2nd – ‘Fox’ by Louise Burns-Jones

3rd – ‘Craggy Coast’ by Diane Harrison

Huge Congratulations to our winners.

The week long event also included 2 Sketching mornings where we invited visitors to join us and go out into Thornbury to sketch what took our fancy. Of course we finished up with coffee and chat. These mornings proved extremely popular.

So it’s all over for another year. A big ‘Well Done’ and Thank You to Fiona and her band of helpers for putting together a Show Stopper of an exhibition.
