Barry Herniman is a full time artist. He enjoys tutoring through demos, running workshops and painting holidays

Barry loves to travel with his sketch book, capturing scenes, whether it be his beloved landscapes, the buzz of the city and it’s inhabitants or even portraits. His favourite medium is watercolour with the fascination of it’s transparency and movement as colours mingle and unfurl on the paper.

For tonight’s demo Barry will capture the crash of waves in a seascape. He uses the paint characteristics to build an emotive and colourful composition through his layering and flicking techniques.

During the evening, we will break midway for free tea, coffee and biscuits. This will give us an opportunity to chat to the artist and ask questions. We’ll also catch up with each other and of course say hello to our visitors.
